Museo Art Academy

offers a variety camps, workshops, weekly classes and private lessons for all ages in our historic downtown Issaquah studio and on-site at local schools and clubs. All lessons are designed to meet the National Standards for Arts Education. In addition to this we host birthday parties, private group projects, field trips and corporate team-building events!

It is our goal to cultivate creative confidence and individual expression in each and every student.  We provide knowledgeable and respectful guidance and support, in a safe and comfortable environment, as students explore media and techniques.

We use a variety of teaching methods through which students are encouraged to express their owns unique style.  Each lesson focuses heavily on the CREATIVE PROCESS with emphasis on developing skills.

A Note from the Director...

Art is subjective and extremely personal.  There is no "right way" to create it or experience it, but rather endless opportunity for discovery.

Art moves us.  It can be incredibly beautiful and quite disturbing.  Most importantly of all, it can make us open our eyes to the world as it relates to others.  One does not need to decide whether he "likes" it or not; just consider it.

I believe growth in art appreciation and artistic ability comes from a never-ending process of building experiences.  How we interpret or react to something is personal and unique and is a product of our own individual journey.  Hours of formal training, trial and error, admiration and imitation of observed techniques, tons of practice, spontaneous results--they all help to create the artist of the future.  I hope that you'll come join us in the studio to pursue your journey of discovery.

Customer Testimonials

Wow.  After five years of sending my creative independent little girl (now 9 – not so little!) to summer camps and hearing, “I really don’t want to do that one again”, I finally got to hear that she enjoyed your camp AND she’d even like to do your camp again next year.  This is a major breakthrough for us!  She came home with wonderful artwork that she LOVES, and its all her creation.  She even said that she’d come to an after school class.  Thank you for providing the real thing – a summer program that lets kids be kids, expands their horizons, and helps them explore their own creative nature.

We want to thank you for your extremely generous support of [our school's] Art Gallery Night! We received so much positive feedback from the polymer clay pens; they were a big hit!  I also know the successful bidder on the party package you donated for the auction, and she was just thrilled. Your participation really made the event!
Sincerely,
Lee-Ann & Anna

My son, Jakob, had his 6th birthday party with you last year and liked it so much he wants to do it again this year!

The Clay & Sculpture camp is great!!  All the friends of Kyle loved it and the parents loved their creative art pieces too!  I personally like the bronze leaf most that Kyle made.  He is so proud of himself and told me that he has to put the leaf in one of our display cabinets to show friends who come to visit in the future.  All the teachers were great and very patient with the kids too.

Thank you again as the kids had a great time at Museo this week!

Audrey LOVED her art camp!  Thanks for your email because it reminded me that we need to sign up for the Monday Exporing Art class.  See you on Aug 31st!
